Is Shakira Turning Into Latina Beyonce?

Before Shakira "crossed over" into the English market, she was known as a rockera with a unique voice and edgy lyrics. But it looks like Shakira is moving from being original to being a copy cat.  Her latest video "Give it up to Me" looks very much like a Beyonce video. As a matter of fact, it looks very similar to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" video.

The new video also features eccentric rapper Lil Wayne, which is a bit disturbing and just plain weird. Her wardrobe and choreography also has elements a la Beyonce. (I wonder if the clothes came from Beyonce's mother's line "House of Dereon"?)The two singers collaborated for the "Beautiful Liar" video which probably inspired Shakira's new "style".

Is Shakira trying to be the Latina Beyonce or is she trying to crossover into the R&B genre? Either way, it seems like the Shakira we once known and loved is gone and has turned into Shayonce. (sigh)
